To raise awareness and prevent new infections of HIV/AIDS.
Work is done with female sex workers and homosexual individuals. Regular medical check-ups are conducted every three months. Condoms are distributed monthly as needed. Complete treatment for STIs is provided. HIV testing is performed every six months. Monthly visits and counseling are provided to HIV positive individuals to ensure regular medication intake.
Training classes are conducted for female sex workers to help them become self-reliant. To date, 280 women have received training, with approximately 70 becoming self-sufficient through home-based sewing work. HIV positive individuals are provided with work at five different locations, allowing them to live with dignity. Awareness programs are organized to prevent discrimination against HIV positive individuals and home visits are conducted.
A blood donation camp was organized at Talav Primary School, in collaboration with the Red Cross Society, and the camp was conducted by the National AIDS Control Project.
College students celebrate World AIDS Day on December 1st to raise awareness about HIV and AIDS.
